We want to achieve, and continue achieving, our mission by following strategies we have laid out with regard to:

Safety

  • Ensure that no such casualty will occur as can be avoided by constant care and due diligence.
  • Prevent accidents and protect health by ensuring a high degree of safety and health awareness for all seagoing and shore based personnel.
  • Ensure that vessels and seagoing personnel adhere to national and international rules and regulations as required by the company, by national authorities and by the classification society.

Reliability

  • Repair and maintain the vessels as necessary for zero defect functional compliance protected against corrosion and with satisfactory visual effect.
  • Ensure that operational experience is shared throughout the fleet of vessels irrespective of nationality or type.
  • Evaluation and use of operational experience and development for the benefit of all vessels and punctuality for new building.
  • Ensure that voyages will be performed with least possible risk for delays due to influence of inclement weather and that vessels’ maximum continuous speed is always available

Costs

  • Ensure that vessels’ total operational costs are continuously reduced by increasing time between overhauls, preventing breakdowns, minimizing vessel complement and improving its abilities.
  • Define, by analysis, relevant key figures for productivity and ensuring that productivity on board and ashore is improved continuously.

Environment

  • Ensure adherence to existing national and international legislation with regard to air and sea pollution.
  • Ensure a high degree of awareness and involvement concerning protection of the environment throughout the organisation.
  • Perform actively in the development of an environmentally acceptable way of operating by systematic use of energy technology and operational practice to achieve the maximum benefit for the minimum expenditure of resources.
  • Monitor development of pollution prevention ashore and consider possible implications of future legislation at sea.
  • Compliance with ISO 14001 procedures for the tanker vessels.

Security

  • Ensure adherence to national and international security-related legislation as well as such bilateral agreements as are made by the profit centers.
  • Ensure that vessels operation is carried out in such a way as to minimize security-risks.
  • Ensure availability on board of such technical features as are effective and necessary to minimize security-risks for personnel, vessel and cargo, whether at sea or in port.

Employees

  • Ensuring that officers, ratings and personnel ashore are highly motivated, trained, certified and available in sufficient numbers.
  • Ensuring that the rate of retention of our (key) personnel ashore and our officers and ratings is higher than 70%.
